Hello all! It’s been a while since I last updated. There is quite a few pieces of work I have finished since then. Some portrait work and som character art. I have been experimenting a lot with not just color, but how light reflects off of that color to create multiple shades. I have tried several different techniques to achieve this. One is to have a base color that I put down and then color over that “base coat”. The other technique is more of a classic one where I put down a dark orange version of a particular skin tone. This “burnt sienna” seems to work rather well, but I have much to learn in color mixing with this technique.
Anyway, here are my pieces from the last couple of months. Admittedly, I had fallen off the wagon when it comes to being prolific with my practice. That sort of thing is okay! I think its healthy to take breaks in a hobby. It’s part of the natural flow. I find that I’m coming back to it and haven’t lost anything in the “vacation”. If you find yourself struggling with your creative outlet, it is okay to take a little break to come back to it. It might even be important to do so. I hope you all are well. Also, just in case you need to read this today, you are loved and valued. Be safe.
