I know I only posted yesterday, but I wanted to shout out some of the updates I am making to the website. First of all, the old splash page is gone. I wanted to do something a little more minimal. I will probably be making a few more changes as time goes on.
I have also rearranged my art and cleaned out some of the older pieces that don't quite represent my current work. I decided to go with a more asymmetric grid for my layout vs the very rigid and contented layout of the previous version. I think it turned out really well. Of course, it appears a little different on mobile because of the screen size. It's all good though, it still represents my work in a visually appealing way. I also renamed a few things such as "My Art" is now "Portfolio". Subtle, but I think it gives off a different vibe.
On the docket for future redesign is my "About Me" page. I will be revamping that with new info. First, I am going to add a pricing structure for my work to make it a bit less opaque about my commissions. I hope to add more professional work to resumé through a more transparent pricing structure.
Lastly, I will redesign this blog page as well. It feels a little to 2000s with its layout. I will probably get rid of the archive in the sidebar and include some other way to find old posts. The sidebar takes up too much space and is kind of an eyesore. Also, it dates back to 2016 and a lot of evolution in my work has happened since then.
Goodbye for now and look forward to more changes to come.
UPDATE: The redesign is done and hopefully way more intuitive to navigate and explore. Already I am seeing an uptick in page views for my portfolio. I can either thank the fact that I am blitzing the internet with self-marketing or that I made the website a little less cluttered. No matter the reason, thank you for stopping by.
